CURT NYSTRÖM 1893 - 1965

CurtNyström Stoopendaal, born June 25, 1893 in Adolf Fredrik, Stockholm, Uppland, died July 27, 1965 in Rådmansö, Frötuna, Uppland.
Was a Swedish illustrator. He was the son of Jenny Nyström and, like his mother, is best known for his Christmas pictures.

Curt Nyström Stoopendaal began studying medicine after graduating from high school, but interrupted his studies to instead study at Althin's painting school and at Wilhelmson's painting school. He worked for a time as an advertising artist, but in 1934 he began painting cards for Axel Eliassons Konstförlag. He is buried at Rådmansö church.

In the first decades of the 20th century, bonads were printed from painted models. Diligent artists were Erik Forsman, Jenny Nyström, Curt Nyström, Lars Carlsson and Aina Stenberg-Masolle and others
These have today become major collectors' items and then much because of nostalgia for the Swedish Christmas.
